Hello, and welcome to my web site.
I'm Stephen Mitchell, a Computer Science graduate from Sunderland.
I originally set up this website in early 2008 whilst I was looking for an industrial placement as part of my course at Northumbria University. I intended it to be a fun and practical way to learn more about HTML and CSS (and have the bragging rights of owning my own domain!) and also to serve as a source of up-to-date information for potential employers.
During my final year of university, the site began looking very neglected. After I graduated, I took the opportunity to completely redesign it and bring all the information on it up-to-date. In April 2012, I took the decision to abandon my original domain name in favour of stephenmitchell.me.uk, which I hope will improve the site's search engine ranking. The site is still in active development, and I'm hoping to expand it in the near future to add examples of my programming work and other projects - watch this space!
